In 1915 University School of Nashville came into being, founded as Peabody Demonstration School, part of Peabody Teachers’ College.
Sixty years later, when the college announced plans to close PDS, a group of parents, teachers, and students united to save the school they loved, making it an independent entity, renaming it University School of Nashville, and dedicating it to the institution’s historical principles of academic challenge, remarkable teaching, and inclusiveness.
Artclectic helps USN keep the commitment to curricular innovation and classroom excellence with all the proceeds supporting The Endowment for Innovative Teaching. This fund makes possible projects and initiatives of greatest promise to students and teachers at USN, combining creative energy with practical wisdom. Artclectic is also one of USN’s many ways of sharing with the larger community.
