Cupcakes and Columns

Last spring I invited printmaker Jim Sherraden to brainstorm ideas on how to commemorate Artclectic’s 15th Anniversary. Im has participated in the show nearly every one of those 15 years, loves Artclectic and University School, so he offered a unique perspective of how to celebrate the occasion. What he came up with turned into a unique collaboration with fellow printmaker Julie Sola. The 15 “Cupcakes and Columns” showcase the perfect blend of Julie’s whimsical prints and Jim’s abstract interpretation of letter press in multi-dimensional form. Julie created the original artwork – a cupcake perched atop one of USN’s columns. Then Jim used his techniques to change and enhance the print.
